Can young women, women without children, and older women use Jadelle Implants?

Yes.

Women of child bearing age, with or without children, can use Norplant Implants.

Do Jadelle Implants do cause cancer?

Instead, they may help to prevent cancer of the inner lining of the womb.

Must I return often for follow-up if I use Jadelle Implants?

No. periodic visits are not necessary. Yearly visits may be helpful to check you general state of health, but are not a requirement for you to use Jadelle Implants. Of course, you are welcome to return to your service provider whenever you have questions or if you are experiencing any problems with the implant.

What if I want to have the capsules removed before 5 years?

The rods can be removed by trained service provider if you desire to get pregnant or want to remove them for any reason.

Can the Implants break or move around in within my body?

The rods are flexible and cannot break under your skin. They remain where they are inserted until they are removed.

Can I work soon after insertion?

Yes.

You can work after leaving the clinic as long as you do not do hard work with the arm or hit the insertion site where the rods are or get it wet. You should keep the insertion site dry and clean for at least 48 hours. After healing (usually 3 to 5 days), the area can be touched and washed with normal pressure.
