When can I start taking the Pill?
You can start taking the Pill anytime you are sure you are not pregnant.
How do I take the Pill?
Start a new packet of Pills with a white Pill, following the direction of the arrow on the packet. Take the Pill at the same time everyday for it to work well. Take all 28 Pills, one each day, including the coloured Pills. Start a new packet and take the Pills as usual.
What should I do when I forget to take the Pill?
If you miss one Pill, take it as soon as you remember, and take the next Pill at the same regular time. This may mean that you take two Pills on the same day or even at the same time.
What should I do with the rest of the Pills?
Continue to take the rest of the Pills as usual, one each day.
What should I do if I miss two or more Pills?
If you miss two or more Pills, take one Pill as soon as you remember, continue to take the Pill every day but you must also use a condom for the next 7 days or avoid sex.
Can the Pill make a woman sterile?
No. if you could get pregnant before taking the Pill, you will be able to get pregnant when you stop taking it. Some Pill users have to wait a few months for normal menstrual periods to return. They are then able to get pregnant.
Can I take the Pill throughout my childbearing years?
Yes. There is no minimum or maximum age. The Pill is an appropriate method for most women of childbearing years.
Will I be protected from becoming pregnant when I stop taking the Pill after taking it for many years?
No. You are protected as long as you are taking the Pill regularly.
Can a woman take the Pill if she has not given birth before?
Yes. Women with or without children can safely take the Pill.
Does the Pill cause deformed babies?
No. a child conceived after you take the Pill will not be deformed because of the Pill. Also, even if you take some Pills accidentally while pregnant, they will not deform the baby or make you abort your baby.
Does the Pill cause cancer?
No. There is no proof that the Pill can cause any common cancer. There is evidence that Pill users are at lower risk of getting two kinds of cancer: cancer of the ovaries (egg bag) and cancer of the inner lining of the womb.
